Abstract submission

We will consider abstracts for a

• Symposium (75 minutes) - Overview is submitted by the chair and each presenter/discussant submits their own contribution) 

• Oral presentation (15-20 minutes - only when space allows – symposia are preferred)

• Poster presentation

• Flashtalk (max 10 minutes)

• Workshop (75 minutes - if space allows 2 x 75 minutes)

 

Please complete the Abstract submision form to submit your abstract latest January 7:

• Max 250 words.

• English language

• Structured: Background, Objective, Method, Results, Conclusions (not required for workshop)

• 3-5 keywords

• References: max 3,  these don't count toward the word count.​

All submitted abstracts will be independently reviewed by at least two reviewers. The purpose of the review is to ensure high scientific quality, global diversity, and relevance to the aims of the Global Collaboration on Traumatic Stress.

Review Criteria

Abstracts will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

1. Scientific Quality and Rigor

   • Clarity of research question or objectives

   • Appropriateness of methods or approach

   • Soundness of analysis and interpretation

   • Credibility of results or conclusions

2. Relevance to the GCTS

   • Alignment with the overarching aims of the GCTS

   • Contribution to understanding traumatic stress in global, humanitarian, or cross-cultural contexts

   • Relevance for prevention, intervention, or policy

   • Inclusion of diverse populations, settings, or cultural perspectives

   • Evidence of interdisciplinary or international collaboration

   • Contribution to equity and global knowledge exchange

   • Open science practices

3. Innovation and Originality

   • Novelty of topic, theoretical approach, or methodology

   • Added value to existing research and practice

   • Creativity in addressing complex or emerging challenges

4. Clarity and Structure

   • Logical organization and coherence of the abstract

   • Clear and concise writing

   • Adherence to abstract format and word limit

Review outcome

Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, abstracts may be:

• Accepted

• Accepted with modifications (e.g., reformatting or reclassification of session type)

• Not accepted due to limited relevance, quality, or clarity
